TECHNOLOGY / PRODUCT / OPERATIONS

I make complex
systems make sense.

I'm Dave Hon. A former digital newsroom editor now building the software, workflows, and connections behind a modern business.

HOW I THINK01 / 03

Understand the problem.
Connect the pieces.
Make it work.

01 / THE THROUGHLINE

From telling stories
to building systems.

My career started in journalism, where I learned how to find the important question, make sense of messy information, and deliver under pressure.

Today I apply the same instincts to technology—building internal software, connecting legacy platforms, improving commerce operations, and turning customer data into useful action.

The medium changed. The work is still about making complicated things useful.

OPERATIONS / APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE

Making a business run as one system.

Designed and built Artemis and Apollo, internal applications connecting purchasing, inventory, receiving, picking, packing, backorders, and other operational workflows. Integrated existing ERP and commerce platforms with purpose-built tools, including wearable devices and packing stations.

THE CHALLENGE

Bridge legacy systems, human workflows, and changing operational needs.

MY ROLE

Architecture, hands-on engineering, integrations, deployment, and support.

Project descriptions are intentionally high-level to respect proprietary systems and information.

03 / MY PATH

Not a straight line.
A useful one.

The combination of journalism, software, and operational ownership is the point—not a detour.

05 / GET IN TOUCH

The next problem
is out there.

I'm interested in the space where technology, business, and people meet. If that sounds like something you're working on, I'd like to hear about it.
